The Golden Dove

Natchya Tiwari

There was a family who was very poor. But, every member of the family was very loyal, tolerant and helpful. Often, they used to help others, though their help was not much.

One day, a golden dove saw how hard they worked. The dove decided to help them by giving them his golden feather once a day. The dove told the family to go to the market and sell the feather for some money. Every day, he gave them one of his feathers. Slowly, the family became rich.

One day, the head woman of the family thought that she should catch the dove and take all of his golden feathers.

Next day, the dove came again and the head woman of the family caught the dove and put him in a cage. In the morning, when the head woman came near the cage, she found that the dove was not a golden dove. He had turned into a normal dove.

The head woman became very sad. She freed the dove from the cage with heavy heart. The dove flew away and never came back. After some days, the family again became poor.

Moral of the story:  We shouldn’t be greedy.
