Water is a very important thing on the Earth. There are a lot of benefits of drinking water. In this article, I am going to discuss the importance of water in our body.

 

Human beings are made up of about 60% water. Babies have the most which is up to 78%. Every organ, cell, and tissue in our body uses water to function properly. This is the main reason why drinking enough water every day is important for us.

 

How does water help our body?

Water in our bodies regulates the temperature of the body.

    


Water in the body protects our tissues, spinal cord and joints.

Water helps excrete waste from breathing, sweat, urination.

Water helps in boosting energy.

Water helps in digesting processes.

Water improves blood oxygen circulation.

Water helps in improving our mood.

Water helps in keeping our skin bright.

Water prevents overall dehydration.  

 

How much water should we drink per day?

A normal man should take about 15.5 cups (approximately 3.7 liters) of fluids daily. A normal woman should take about 11.5 cups (approximately 2.7 liters) of fluids daily.

Hyponatremia is a condition where sodium level in blood is lower than normal. In many cases, too much water in the body dilutes the sodium, causing this condition. In general, too much water in our body is usually the main cause for it.

 

Fun fact:  A person can live about a month without food, but only about a week without water.
