Remember 2022 Calendar From a Story

H.D. Motiramani

5 cricket loving friends boarded a bus whose number was 11. They went to a hotel named 4 Square. The topic discussed was cricket. On that day, India in their test cricket against Newzealand had scored only 62 runs in their first inning. A friend asked another, alright, forget this small total, do you know any Indian who scored 403 runs all alone in a single inning in any test cricket? The reply came that I am unaware of this but do know that one of the Indian players scored a total of 513 runs total in both the innings in one of the tests played in England and that match went in a draw.

Well, the story ends here, but tells us the numbers that have figured in this story. The numbers are 5 11 4 62 403 513. Try to remember by heart the numbers 5 1 1   4 6 2   4 0 3   5 1 3 because this is your calendar for the year 2022. Each number corresponds to a code for each of the month respectively from January to December.  For example 5 is the code for January. Next is 1 and that is the code for February. The code for March is 1 again. Likewise the code for October is 5, November is 1 and the last number 3 is the code for December.

Let us see the use of these codes. It is very simple. Add the respective code to the date in question. For example: if we want the day of 15th August 2022, look for the code for august. It is zero. So 15+0=15.  If we divide this number 15 by 7, the remainder will be 1 which means first working day of the week that is  Monday. Let us see some more examples, say 26 January, 2nd October and  31st December 2022.

1) 26th January…..  Code for January is 5,  So 26+5=31 divided by 7 gives 3 as remainder which means Wednesday.

2) 2nd October……. Code for Oct is also 5, So 5+2=7 divided by 7 gives 0 remainder meaning that it will be a Sunday.

3) 31st December… Code for December is 3, So 31+3=34. Divided by 7 gives 6 as remainder means Saturday.

In nutshell, the formula for 2022 calendar is ADD THE CODE OF RESPECTIVE MONTH TO DATE IN QUESTION,  DIVIDE BY 7 AND LOOK FOR REMAINDER. Remainder will be day of the week. Remember the Codes:
