Earth Day

Every year, we celebrate Earth Day on 22nd April. It is celebrated to promote the idea to save our planet. Our Earth is an amazing planet. It is the only planet where life is found. To save Earth means, we should reduce pollution, and deforestation on it. We can do this by planting new trees and keeping it clean. As much as cleaner it is, the life is so much so happier and healthier on it.

The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970. We should stop using plastic items. It has been found through research that a plastic bottle takes over 450 years to break down in a landfill.

We should avoid throwing anything on the Earth. Before throwing anything, we should ask ourselves whether the thrown object can be recycled or repurposed. The very easy way to reduce the waste is to reduce the use of things. For example, if we wish to buy some book, we should first check our library to find that book to read and if it is not there then only we should visit the book-store to buy it.

We can take the following few steps to reduce the pollution on our Earth:

(a)    Becoming car-free

(b)    Creating recycle bins

(c)    Growing something
