Learning Experience in IOMS…

My learning experience in IOMS is completely different from what I used to learn in schools. IOMS stands for "Interactive Online Mentoring Sessions ". under Gyan Vigyan Sarita (GVS). It is a selfless initiative and being operated with Personal Social Responsibility (PSR).

I have been learning with IOMS for a year. I joined IOMS during Covid pandemic when I was in class 10th. IOMS conduct sessions of Maths and Science for class 9th to class 12th. Maths and Physics sessions are held by Dr. Subhash Joshi sir and Chemistry and Biology sessions are held by Kumud Madam. During pandemic our study was getting very poor day by day. I had many doubts related to my subject when I joined IOMS. I thought that my doubts couldn't be solved in online classes. But, when I joined IOMS I felt that I can solve my problems myself.

GVS also brings out a Monthly Web-bulletin Gyan Vigyan Sarita: शिक्षा. Every student is free to choose his/her topic for submission. When I joined IOMS I was unaware of word Bulletin. I made my first submission related to mathematics. I made some mistakes in my submission so that it was not become a part of Bulletin of that month. Then our mentor encouraged me to improve my mistake and make another submission for next Bulletin. I felt that I can make better submission for next Bulletin. The thing which I liked too much in Bulletin is open discussions on submissions made by of every student. These discussions are made during sessions of IOMS. This helps each of us to learns from mistakes of others also.. Preparations for submissions help students to improve upon their mistakes.

Our mentors, in IOMS, explain every topic very clearly and if any doubt then we are encouraged to ask them without hesitation. They not only explain the topics but also inspire us with their life experiences. Students are also encouraged to share their experiences.

This IOMS is mainly for such students who can't afford coaching/tuition or are located where proper guidance is not available. But, these students are required to take IOMS sincerely, regularly and interactively. A student who take it sincerely is not only becomes capable to explain concepts but also answer to question on 'how? and 'why?’ of concepts.

Upcoming Digital India offers a great opportunity to learn many things in Online manner. Students from an area where better study materials are not available can join IOMS guidance and mentoring expects parents or social organizations to arrange mobile and proper internet connection so that students can attend IOMS, in Online manner, for better understandings. But, IOMS doesn't provide any financial help. However, while educational help. If we have a better education the we can earn money.

If someone provide educational help, then it will be our financial help inr future. Because, education is beyond money. Before joining IOMS I was counted in average students but today I have a better understanding of my subject. IOMS has taught me how to fight with problems. Overall my learning experience over one year with IOMS can't be expressed in words. The whole journey is wonderful and I have learnt many things since I joined IOMS…..
