Ram Navami is a religious and traditional festival of Hindus. Hindu people celebrate this festival with great joy and gaiety all over India. The festival of Ram Navami is celebrated as the birth day of Shri Rama Chandra, a son of King Dasharatha and Rani Kaushalya of Ayodhya.

Shri Rama Chandra is considered to be the 7th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. There has been 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The Ten incarnations (Dashavatar) of Vishnu are : (1) Matsya Avatar, (2) Kurma Avatar, (3) Varaha Avatar, (4) Narsimha Avatar, (5) Vamana Avatar, (6) Parashuram Avatar, (7) Ram Avatar, (8) Balram Avatar, (9) Krishna Avatar, and (10) Kalki Avatar.

According to Hindu calendar, every year Ram Navami comes on the 9th day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. Devotees from all over the world gather in Ayodhya to celebrate the festival of Ram Navami.

Maharshi Valmiki has written the great Ramayan and Goswami Tulsi Das has written the famous Ramcharit Manas praising the qualities of Shri Ram Chandra. Shri Ram Chandra is considered as an Ideal King and an ideal Son all over the world.
